For almost 17 years I served on the Slidell City Council. I ran unopposed for three terms as the councilman for District G, and was twice elected as Councilman-at-Large. During the past 6-1/2 years, in accordance with the city charter, as the Councilman-at-Large with the most votes, I have gained valuable experience serving as the Acting Mayor every time Mayor Cromer was out of town for more than 5 days. After his resignation, I was sworn in (on January 20, 2025) as the 23rd Mayor of the City of Slidell. I’ve served with three different administrations, and dozens of different council members. Throughout, I have gained an incredible wealth of knowledge regarding Slidell’s history, the processes, and relationships needed to move the city forward.
Former Mayor Cromer and I have held mutual goals, experiences, and visions for Slidell for several decades. While our paths to attain those goals and visions may be different, our goals and visions for Slidell have always been aligned. The same can be said for this administration and this council. We all want to continue making our community exponentially better and stronger.
I regularly meet the city directors, staff, and employees with open dialogue about moving our city forward. I have shared some of my top priorities with them: completing the Tammany Trace into Heritage Park, revitalizing our recreational youth facilities, and greatly improving the Slidell Municipal Airport.
Through the years the citizens of Slidell have encouraged, inspired, and challenged me. Slidell has a bright future, and with YOUR support we can all work together as Team Slidell grows. God has blessed me with the opportunity to serve as your Mayor, and I look forward to many more years in His service and yours.
