#BillMeansBusiness
Mayor Bill Borchert grew up in Slidell. He attended St. Margaret Mary School where his mother Ann was a founding organizer of the St. Margaret Mary Fair. He graduated from St. Paul’s High School before graduating from Louisiana Tech with a Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering.
Following in the footsteps of his mother, who passed down her dedication to community service to her children and grandchildren, Mayor Bill’s lifelong passion has been to help and serve the people of Slidell.
Bill Borchert was elected to the Slidell City Council in 2008 and served the citizens of Slidell as Councilman, then Councilman-At-Large, for more than 16 years until his inauguration as Mayor of Slidell in January 2025.
Bill is humbled and honored to serve as Mayor of the City of Slidell. His extensive experience as a Councilman, along with his frequent service as Acting Mayor over the past six and a half years, has prepared him to step into the role of Mayor.
Bill and Laura Borchert have three beautiful daughters and two precious grandchildren. They are active and accessible in the Slidell community, frequently strolling through Olde Towne, shopping at the Farmers Market and supporting local restaurants and shops.
The Borcherts remain involved in numerous charitable, cultural and civic activities that have changed the landscape of Slidell and the lives of countless people.
